I have just finished making reservations for said pooch to have 8 fun filled days at a 'Doggie Spa'.
I kid you not people.
His 'room', not a kennel, mind you, has a tiled interior with a window, a doggie door that leads to his own private pea stone patio, a raised bed with comfy linens, soothing music piped in quietly throughout the day, a FLAT. SCREEN. TV (to watch Animal Planet of course).
And if that's not enough, a web cam so that we can watch him 24-7 while we're away.
Seriously, this is the picture from their website:

This insanity also includes 3 play times during the day.
I can't even begin to tell you the 'a la carte' items. All natural snacks. Stuffed Kongs (my pooches personal fav). Extra potty breaks. Cuddle time?
I don't know about any of you, but if I was my dog I don't think I'd want to come home.

My parents leave their dog at a "bed and biscuit" and the amenities are similar to what your dog will be getting.
And to think that these are the same people who would cram all six of us into one fleabag motel room when we went on vacation. I hope like hell that dog knows how lucky he has it.
Jen: We even picked the low end options!!! They would have grilled him a steak if we asked for it. (No kidding. It's on the 'a la carte' menu.)
Is it crazy that I'm getting jealous of the dog's vacation?
Miss Scorpio:
I'M TOTALLY JEALOUS of the dogs vacay and a little nervous he'll like them better than us.
They do offer doggie daycare so if worse comes to worst...
OMG - I can't beleive I actually considered that!
We are getting ready to make reservations at such a spa for our dog too while we go out of town...it will be the 3rd time she's gotten to stay in one...her vacation might be better than ours...hahaha!
I was just reading about this at petsmart or something. I really dont think my dog needs such luxuries. or maybe she does and ive been neglecting her this whole time. hmm..
I love it !
Wow! I wish I could send Gauge to somewhere that fancy smancy! He goes to the "Canine Country Club". Which is very nice. It is so clean you could probably eat off the floor. But its still a kennel. That costs me about $25 per day and if I want them to walk him thats an extra $5 per day. I can't imagine what that place charges! But hey, nothing is too good for the fur kids! :)
Heather: Believe it or not the room/package we picked is only $35 per day. Once you start to add on the extras the price really goes up.
Hahahaha... my dog would never come home to the chaos again.
Take the dog with you and I'll go in his place sounds like he would have a nicer place that what I got!!
I'm pretty sure that the dogs have it made. We found a place where they will let my two be together and same thing, you can buy them extra walks, swims etc. Fur babies rule.
Our pooch is now 18 years old and we stopped "storing him away" so that we could have a vacation, about 5 years ago. We realized that his "comfort" didn't comfort him as it would have us, because to him, he was being deserted by the pack and had no idea whether we'd be back or not. Every time we'd pick him up, he'd be stick skinny with bloody paws from pacing the entire time we were gone. ARghhhhhh
LOL! Wow!
I would love to work in one of these places. Can you imagine getting paid to play with dogs all day?? I would love it!
