A few weeks ago I went to my doctor for my annual 'You're Getting Old and Things are Worn Out Visit'. She proceeded to tell me that I have a Vitamin D deficiency.
Of course I do.
It couldn't have been high cholesterol, thus forcing me to give up Chicken McNuggets. No, it's Vitamin D, so now I have free reign to eat KFC but I have to take these green gel pills once a week for the next 6 months.
Fab-O. I hate taking stuff. Mostly because I have to follow some kind of schedule.
Anyone out there in the medical/pharmaceutical industry? Chime in, because, frankly 50,000 units of anything except money seems like a lot to me.
Well, for the past three weeks, which is equal to the number of pills I've taken, I've had these monster headaches. At first I thought it was my new contacts so I stopped wearing them. No such luck, I've still got the headaches.
And because we know, Web MDing your symptoms is really a smart thing to do, not, I looked up the side effects of Vitamin D. I didn't even know that vitamins could have side effects. Well, apparently one of the side effects of a toxic level of Vitamin D is headaches.
Fab-O. AGAIN!
I left a message for the doc this afternoon and I'm waiting for a call back but in the meantime I picked up the Kid from school...
Me: How was your first day back from vacation?
Kid: Ugh!
Me: Any homework?
Kid: No, but my friends, Troublemaker and Parents Worst Nightmare, made these baggies full of salt, water and vinegar. They blowup and make salt go everywhere.
Me: You've only been at school 8 hours!!!
Kid: It was hilarious. Parents Worst Nightmare put one in my bag.
Me: WITH YOUR BOOKS??!!
Kid: Yeah! It blew up in the pocket!!! BBBBAAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I don't think the headaches are from the Vitamin D.
