Me: How was school?
Kid: We had Gay Day Today.
Me: You had what? Stop saying that you're going to offend someone.
Kid: We had bonding day with just the boys and we had to hold hands and stuff.
Me: Uh-huh. And you did what?
Kid: We made a human-knot, holding hands, and had to get untangled without letting go.
Me: Where were the girls?
Kid: Doing girl-stuff with the girl teachers. You know, having their own Gay Day.
Me: (Sigh) Stop saying that. Was is fun?
Kid: Mostly.
Me: What was the best part?
Kid: Lunch.
Me: Why would lunch be any different today than it is any other day?
Kid: Do you have any idea how quiet the lunchroom is when there are no girls? It was awesome!
Sometimes I wonder why I even ask.
