This Saturday I switched the summer quilt on our bed to the down comforter. This, of course, guaranteed that it would be close to 80 degrees all weekend long.
And it was.
While the Boyfriend was helping me get the cover on the comforter he busts out laughing...
Me: What is so funny?
Him: We just had 'The Blanket' talk at work.
Me: The blanket talk?
Him: Yeah, all the guys were sitting around the break table talking about how it's the time of year when everyone's wives or girlfriends break out, The Blanket.
Me: So what are you trying to say?
Him: This is just one of your blankets. Soon you're going to put that 60 year old, handmade by great-great someone or other blanket on the bed and I won't be able to breathe.
Apparently there was a vigorous amount of head nodding around the break table that every one of them suffered from some form of blanket suffocation throughout the winter.
Me: (laughing) But I'm cold.
Him: Yeah, yeah...you and every other girl on the planet.
Me: Fine, we'll see how smug you are when it's -10 degrees out and I'm not sharing with you.
Of course these new windows we've been installing for the last three days will most likely make our house feel somewhat tropical.
Perhaps I can pare it down to one blanket? Although that seems unlikely given past winters.
Is it Blanket season in your house?

Sorry, I have to take the BF's position on this topic. Too hot!
It is definitely blanket season in our house --unfortunately, it's been hot and cold, hot and cold, so the blanket has been going on and off. For our bed and the kids bed.
My husband was always too hot as well, until two years ago. We're both 48 now, and he's caught up with me --he now gets cold and actually encouraged me to buy the electric blanket we put on when it gets REALLY cold. Just give your BF a few more years :-)
Your boyfriend might try sleeping with a 42 y.o. woman in the midst of perimenopause. There are no extra blankets or even flannel sheets. Just regular cotton sheets and one lightweight bedspread. In another month or two, we might pull out a lightweight fleece blanket. And most nights, I'll end up tossing most of the covers to the side.
(No, I'm actually suggesting that he sleep with another woman. This was just a hypothetical comment.)
Mommy is *usually* all on board with the blankets, but she's pregnant and, for a switch, WAY hotter than Daddy - he's snuggled up and she's sweltering!
It is always Blanket Season in my house! I am just more comfortable with one on
Yep. Same at our house. Scope hates the blankets. But whatever, that just leaves more for me, right? :-)
